SafePlace is a local 501(c)(3) organization committed to offering safety and support to survivors of both sexual assault and domestic violence. SafePlace strives to prevent and end sexual and domestic violence via programs such as a 24-hour helpline, a confidential shelter, 24-hour hospital response, a housing program, legal advocacy, and so much more.

SafePlace needs our community support now more than ever. Massive federal funding cuts are jeopardizing access to critical support for victims of violent crimes, including sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking and child abuse. As a result SafePlace is facing a 40% cut to VOCA, the largest source of funding for crime victim services in Washington State. The impact is immediate. For example Safeplace’s current funding for their Domestic Violence High-Risk Team program, their housing relocation program and their inflationary funding will end at the end of fiscal year 2025. This huge cost burden to the organization will force the end of these programs unless significant new funding is secured. To be most specific, Safeplace is expecting  a $578,000 shortfall for FY2026 as well as an equal sum for the following year.

Last year, thanks to the community members and local businesses, we were able to raise $9,700. This year we strive to surpass that amount!
